Does he play some Beastie Boys songs in his own show?
I've had the pleasure of seeing solo MMM 3 times, and he has never cut any Beastie tunes. He favors his own material and old-skool rap (before the term "hip-hop"). Lots of underground rap, mostly west coast as far as I can tell. Last time I saw him was an afterparty following the 2004 Pageant show in Seattle. He played a tiny little club called Chop Suey and burned the place down. He was also very gracious about sharing the stage with some local MC's who aren't nearly on the same level as him. --- Damian
At the afterparty for the VH1 Hip Hop Honors last October, MMM played a Beastie Boys medley in his set. It was pretty wicked. I was sitting with a group of people from the BBMB, and we hooted like mad when we heard him work it to the Beastie Boys. I might even have video of us dancing to it. I'll have to check my video archives.
