Sneaking and peaking: we're in their crawlspace

Looky-looky at what we found! It looks to be the new design for Beastieboys.com.

Here's what we found in the tour section:
"Now we are practicing for our upcoming tour (check the tour diaries section) and blasting all up in the blogosphere with this stuff. Hope you like it. And if you don't, we'll try harder, or you can just blog on your own damn self! What am I supposed to be blogging about anyway? The beautiful weather we have been having here in the NYC? The vegan banana chocolate chip muffin I am eating, actually more on that in the future. Blog blog blog blog yada yada"

by Mike
And wowie! Oscilloscope has a Flickr account too! (Turn on the comments, guys. That's the best feature of Flickr.)

Here are some more pics from the new site:

You click on the buttons and they play snippets from the new album.

HEY I EMAILED YOU ABOUT THAT!

djzap I found the site on the web too and we made a post before reading your email. Only now I checked the emails and I see yours. Good find anyway :)

I find it interesting that they're going with a blog-style site when Minton -- you know him, one of the admins at Beastieboys.com -- has publicly put down blogs and ridiculed Midzi's and my blog on the message board. The ass.

I'm happy to see the band get more involved in their own site.

Hopefylly they won't get bored with the idea too soon

my prediction:

the beasties are too used to jerking people around whenever asked to interface in some way with the public. Usually this manifests in interviews that go nowhere.

Not that they've decided to start blogging, they're going to try to make every post jokey (like adrock's sitar post)and not be able to keep up the funny for long. plus, i mean, they'll be touring, there's shit to do...

so i don't think the posts will be that frequent. but the new site does look viddy sexy. how the f*** did you get into the crawlspace, hmmmm??

It was found through a simple Google search.

I didn't think the admins were that careless about that kind of stuff. They might have wanted people to find the site.

Dope!

As always...
Nice work ladies.

Does that say, "posted by Adam HoroWitz"???

I should say that Midzi was the one who found it. I posted about it because Minton already hates me.

I'm suspicious about finding the site so easily. You might be right about them wanting you to find it.

2:43 PM Anonymous said...

aw, the Oscilloscope Flickr page is soooo cool :)

2:45 PM Anonymous said...

Cool find!

If the web site is done, why don't they make it public?

2:50 PM Hot Sauce said...

The web site is not ready. There were lots of errors and unfinished items.

2:51 PM Anonymous said...

They need a new photographer. Most of the photos at Flickr are blurry.

lol i found it because i was wondering whether the news page was still up.

2:56 PM Midzi said...

I found it on blog search - in search results I saw post by Adam Horovitz and though this was fake but it wasn't.:D

3:41 PM Anonymous said...

the basic design is sorta ugly, but i like that we will have new stuff

4:02 PM Anonymous said...

I like the Flickr site. I hope they post alot of photos.

The look of the site is hott. This is such a nice little teaser of good things to come. I wonder what yap-ville (the board) will look like?! It's magnificent to see them get slightly personal with us. Oh shucks I'm smiling. :)

ooooh im LOVING the flickr page!

this is so overwhelming. *takes deep breath* and what i mean is, i was sooooo not prepared for this! and this! and this! and this!! and AAAAAAAAAAH!!!! oh my god, i'm having so much fun going through all these pictures! and listening to the new music! everything! the new site rocks so hard! :D

Someone is editing the site right now. Things are changing.

I believe the URL being made public was intentional. What the h-e-double-hockey-sticks could they be thinking?

4:51 PM Anonymous said...

ok, so im hating all of you right now! LOL

no really, am i the only one that cannot access the new site?

4:56 PM Anonymous said...

maybe they made the site public because the message board isn't ready

5:00 PM Anonymous said...

@ misstress
just go to beastieboys.com/tour
@ klepto
glad i'm not the only one taking screen caps :p

5:00 PM Hot Sauce said...

Has anyone found the vocal track?

5:05 PM Klepto said...

where???? :o

5:09 PM Hot Sauce said...

It's a rather curious find. The file is saved as "Thecousinofdeath_vocals" but it's "Car Thief." If I'm not mistaken, it's NEW vocals (as in not from Paul's Boutique). Actually, I'm sure it's new vocals.

Does this mean that they're planning to take their old songs and put them to the new instrumental tracks?

Easy download of the file at Zshare.

they want fans to find the site & talk about it here instead of the message board - which has become too negative. people who come here and at dandyfop's message board are more positive fans.

FYI: You can use html tags in the comments here.

This is what everyone has been trying to link to:
http://www.beastieboys.com/tour

Does anyone else kind of feel like they opened their Christmas presents before they were supposed to. ;P

If they are planning to use their lyrics from old songs on the new instrumentals, I will fucking blow up. It's a crazy idea that only the Beastie Boys could execute.

I like the new site very much. The design is not mind-blowing but I like the content.
