Beastie Boys live at the Crocodile Cafe on Friday

So how did everyone do with tickets?

Who needs tickets and who has extras? Please post in the comment section and help one another. Unfortunately, I cannot reply to all the emails that I received, as I am on my way out West.

While we fans were fretting and fussing about getting tickets to the show on Friday, the Beastie Boys were packing up at Oscilloscope Laboratories and heading out West too.

Rachael, my party *might* have one ticket. I asked my friend to post here if the ticket hasn't been promised to someone else. I can't reach her at the moment, so hang loose.

I am a Northwesterner, and money issues prevent me from attending The Sasquatch Festival. Going to this would just make my day...if anyone has a couple extra tickets please let me know.

Thanks, Spencer

such a small venue (about 300) it just wasn't realistic to expect tix, given the publicity. And ticketmaster isn't optimal for popular shows at small venues. I don't know anyone that even got tickets. craigslist was FULL of people asking for tix, and a few lucky folks asking for some odd requests in exchange for their tix. oh well.

Wow. There's one on ebay for $325. If I was gonna be in the area and didn't have a ticket, I'd scoop that up. I'm nuts though.

Ticketmaster released tickets in stages. A friend of mine got tickets 15 minutes after they went on sale.

Most Beastie Boys fans I've heard from were successful at getting tickets.

The person who is selling the ticket for $325 on eBay is no Beastie Boys fan.

HS,

Is Rusty gonna be in town in time for this? Was gonna call him but I use my damn pm box as my address book on bboys.com and it's a bust.

Yes, Mr. Pootytang will be there in time. He's with my party.

Have fun at the show, guys! I won't be there, but I will be at Squatch to party hearty!

Babs - I'm sorry to hear that you won't be at the Friday show. I'll try to give you a ring during the show so you can have a listen.

Call or text me when you get to the camp/festival grounds.

Pshabi - I'm sorry that you won't be there too. You could still get in your car and drive up here. You could bunk in Pooty's tent if you're brave. ;P

Check Ticketmaster.com often. They will put back tickets in the system on cancelled orders.

HS,

You know I'm a soldier and if there was any possible way to get up there, I would. I've got a huge commitment this weekend. My wife is a manager at a huge retail store out here in Vegas and this is a big weekend for her too. Juggling our kids is gonna be tough as is. It would be impossible if I was out gallavanting in a campground with you lucky suckas. Have fun and get some footage if you can. Can't wait to hear (and hopefully see) the details of Friday night. Can this possibly trump Vegas? It just might.

I got a ticket - and I am a *true* fan since Paul's Boutique.

I made sure I had a ticketmaster online account, and refreshed at exactly 4:00.... Still can't believe I will seem 'em live this Friday...

It. Is. Going. To. Rock.

Hopefully I will be reporting back from the bbmb crew on Friday night.

I think Rachael has a ticket from Pooty.

I asked my friend Paul to post his extra ticket here.

I tried and failed like the Bush Administration. I seriously considered going to the nearby offices of 107.7 THE END and taking a dump in their lobby, but I decided I didn't want to be tasered by SPD. Oh well any miracle help on a ticket would allow you to see my happy dance. Thanks people! -- Damian in Seattle

Lame. I admit to complete jealously and frustration ;) but it's wrong to think most true fans got tickets. Ticketmaster just doesn't work for this kind of show, and the online and radio pub killed most people's chances. I heading to the doors in hopes of getting some no-show tickets, but it'll be hard to compete with the gawkers hawking the Croc all night. sucks. Have fun all who got tickets, once in a lifetime show!

oh yeah, email or call if you got extras!!! :)

is someone gonna record the show?

Sorry, my extra ticket is already sold.

I agree that the radio station killed a lot of fans' chance of getting into the show. The radio station incorrectly reported the show as a hip-hop show with Mix Master Mike. I'm going to be mad if there are people who boo the band or walk out because they're hoping to see a hip-hop show.

I'd like to believe that the music has the power to win people over, but I also know there are a lot of idiots in this world.

I wish the band had used a password with the ticket sale -- a password that you could only get from the official newsletter. That would have helped fans tremendously and kept people like Mr.-Sell-a-ticket-for-$325-on-Ebay from screwing fans.

For those of you out-of-towners who have never been to The Croc before, please be aware that they WILL throw you out for any "illegal" behavior right away. I would hate for anyone who was lucky enough to score tix to be kicked out. Enjoy yourselves on behalf of those of us who got denied. Time to break out the Brass Monkey and console myself.

Damian, don't despair. Why don't you come down to the club the night of the show and ask if someone has a ticket? I have gotten into events that I thought I didn't have a chance of getting into by doing that.

6:11 PM Spiffy D said...

Yeah you're right Saucy. Above I sound as if my dog died or something. It's not really the end of the world, it just feels like it. I'll go over to the Croc tomorry and see what's what.

i wouldn't miss this show for the world, but i wanted to give one of you guys my extra ticket
here is the deal:

the person that shows up outside the croc between 6p-7p on Friday with the biggest 107.7 the end sign will get my extra ticket to this once in a lifetime event. anyone/everyone can enter. it's as easy as that.

good luck and see you at the show

^Lame.

The radio station is acting like its responsible for the show.

9:48 PM Anonymous said...

I want to second M's comment -- I hope that the people who did score tickets know that it's an instrumental show. If I were going to this club show, I'd be worried about asshole frat boys who didn't understand the deal. I worry that it's going to be a problem at all these instrumental shows. The clubs should put a giant sign at the door and not allow alcohol on the floor, like Springsteen did with his acoustic shows. (Yeah, that's going to happen with Beasties, Ha!)

Even though I know the deal ahead of time, I'm going to miss some Beasties songs when I see an instrumental show.

10:48 PM Anonymous said...

Hopefully the "buzz" of the new instrumental album will spill over into people understanding the Gala Event Instrumental Shows.

The only Beastie show that I've been to where no alcohol was sold was the Tibetan Freedom Concert in '99. Maybe only sell champagne.
