T.E. did the audio edit. It's excellent. I don't hear any gaps in it at all.

That little breakdown with the riff at about 2:40 is sick...then it really gets rockin'....not long enough though :(. This album is gonna be tight.

Ahh, this is the way it should be!

Breaking the song and video down in parts diminished the quality of both IMO. It's so much better to see and hear the whole thing.

I agree, the breakdown is sick! Really looking forward to the album.

If they preview a new song this week I'll edit it together and send it Miramanee and Midzi so they can post it here.

im loving this.. im hoping (and sincerely im also pretty sure about it) that every song will have a video that'll add more to the story so that in the end well'have a full movie + soundtrack. that'd be genius. and awesome.

Are all the songs on the new CD like this one?

7:56 PM Hot Sauce said...

^ Sort of. Sort of not. They all have that same vibe. This song centers on the bass. Other songs center on the organs and drums.

I like the look of the video a lot. I like the art direction--it suits the music. I didn't like the video itself. I guess that's all I'll say so as not to upset anyone. I'm really pleased if other people enjoy it.

Do you mean you don't like the story presented in the video, Doc? Or is it their acting? ;)

Does anyone think the story is interesting?

To my ears, the music works as background music for a 60s caper film.

The music doesn't, however, work as music (to my unschooled ears). I like instrumental music that has a melody or changes in volume -- more emotional or memorable. It's just my opinion. I have great respect for the band and they deserve a chance to stretch. I'm glad that this cut still sounds like the Beasties. I'm glad they're this secure and that they're clearly enjoying themselves. They deserve it.
