Oh man, they are hilarious....
I seems like they're trying to advertise their suite of services more...man, I almost want to make an indy film just to hire them...hehe
"gunnin' for that #1 spot"...sounds like their telling us something. new dvd? :)
I assume "Gunnin' for That #1 Spot" is Yauch's basketball film or documentary or whatever it is.
I think I can remember some projects done at Oscilloscope that they've forgotten. I remember reading about Le Tigre working with Missy Elliott at Oscope. I'm not sure if that one was true. I assume some of the remix and production work they've done individually was completed (or partially completed) at Oscope: Matisyahu, Lady Sovereign, Measles Mumps Rubella, Fatboy Slim, Cannonball Jane, Against Me, Juan MacLean, and Northern State. Mike did a remix for Luscious Jackson, but that could have been done pre-Oscope.
what are they doing now..an album or dvd?
It's rather unclear what they're doing, isn't it? We know Yauch was working on editing the Chicago/Detroit dvd before Xmas.
I can tell you that their record label is not expecting anything from them in the next few months. The label recently had its quarterly review in which the staff is informed what artists will be releasing material in the next four months. My friends at the label said that the Beastie Boys had "no update." If a release is planned, the band has to inform the label so it can plan for promotion, distribution, etc.
The photos make Oscope look abandoned because there's no people in them. lol. I hope the website update means they have something to tell us.
maybe they will do the radio show again
Is the mailing list at the Oscope site the same list on beastieboys.com?
No, the mailing list at Oscope is different than the Beastieboys.com mailing list. If you sign up for the Oscope list, you'll receive an email from a Dwight Schrute-type hawking swimwear.

The music biz has really changed. They could be preparing to make money other ways than making cds. What do they owe Capitol before they're free?
