Release plans for Gunnin' for That #1 Spot
An article published in the March 20th issue of Hollywood Reporter provides a few more details about the release of Adam Yauch's film Gunnin' for That #1 Spot.
After its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, the film will be released in the top 10 markets on its opening weekend (June 27), followed by a national release in July.

"Top 10 markets" is another way of saying "several major cities in the United States, yet to be determined." LOL
I hope it plays in Chicago.
I do not ask the following with insult. Do people go to the movie theater to see documentaries nowadays?
Does this mean no gala dvd?
Yes, people see documentaries in "top 10 markets." However, where I live, the only way to get people to see a documentary is to offer free beer with the movie ticket. LOL
And no, sadly, I think Beastie Boys fans will not see a Gala Event dvd this year. I asked someone in the know what exactly Yauch was working on. The reply was something like, "Yauch is a mad scientist. Nobody but he knows what he's working on."
i think the mad scientist needs an assistant! *waves arms*
