Public Enemy documentary premieres at AFI Fest

Welcome to the Terrordome trailer

Welcome to the Terrordome, a documentary about hip-hop legends Public Enemy, premiered last week at the 2007 AFI Fest in Los Angeles. The film, by Robert Patton-Spruill, features interviews with the Beastie Boys, Henry Rollins, Talib Kweli and Tom Morello, among others. Plans for a general release of the film are unknown at this time.

Unfortunately, that trailer seems designed exactly to not encourage people to see the movie. I love Public Enemy, probably my favorite group of all-time, was pumped about the idea after reading the lead in graf, and yet the trailer gives me nothing but a clip of a live performance of the title song with some intertitles "explaining" the concept? Come on now, the kids I see in Gramercy filming their intro videos at the NY Film Academy know better than that.

I agree the trailer is lackluster. It seems it was designed for the AFI Fest. It may have been prepared before the director completed the film. I posted it because I could find so little on the film. The film doesn't have its own web site or an entry at IMDB yet.
