Four exclusive instrumental shows planned for Europe

Yesterday (March 26) Mikołaj Ziółkowski, the organizer of the Heineken Open'er Festival, told Trójka Radio that the Beastie Boys will play TWO SHOWS at the Polish music festival. On Saturday, June 30, Beastie Boys will play their regular set at the festival and on Sunday, July 1, they will perform an EXCLUSIVE INSTRUMENTAL SHOW.

Ziółkowski also told the radio program that Beastie Boys will play their special instrumental sets, which he referred to as a "project," at three other European cities: in Barcelona at the Sonar Festival (which was confirmed at the band's official site), at the Roskilde Festival, and in Paris.

@Sophie: I'm not sure why. They've never kept fans very well informed at the official site. Some people attribute it to the band not caring about fans; other people attribute it their DIY attitude. That is, the band expect fans to get the word out.

With festivals, it's normally the promoter who makes the announcements, not the individual bands. Bands will simply confirm their appearance at the festivals.

With the official site, the admins have to be instructed to post any news, so there is often a delay confirming performances.

A nice thing about the two shows in Poland is one ticket to the Heinken Open'er Festival covers both shows -- unlike the Sonar Festival, where you have to buy two tickets to see both B Boys sets.
