"Make Some Noise" single for Record Store Day may not happen
You may have found it odd that after stories of Beastie Boys offering a limited edition "Make Some Noise" vinyl single for Record Store Day were reported last week, neither the Beastie Boys nor Record Store Day sites confirmed the release. I checked in with a rep with Record Store Day to ask what the dealio is and learned that the organization is indeed working with Beastie Boys management on the release, but there is an issue holding it up and keeping both parties from making an announcement. So until there is an official announcement, it's best not to get your hopes too high.

I was looking forward to someone scoring it, encoding it and sharing it with the rest of us. What's the issue holding it up?
Disappointing news. I hope they get their issue worked out. I was planning to look for a copy on Record Store Day.
I didn't ask what the issue is. It could be a manufacturing or label problem.
500 copies was going to make it hard to find. It would be better if they just released the single like normal so everyone could have it.
We Beastie Boys fans are used to being told we're going to get a record/single/video/dvd and then not get it.
@Billson: There will be a single release for everyone, tentatively on April 12. It needs to be officially confirmed.
@Fittonia: Beastie Boys never said they were going to have a RSD release.
I hope the single is released on April 12. That is only 1 week!! I don't really care about the Record Store Day record because I don't have a record player.
If they release the single next week the only reason to get the RSD lp is for the Passion Pit remix. Meh.
Record Store Day is a farce in my city. Profiteers beat the true collectors in the store lines & buy the records to resell them on ebay. I've given up on it.
Give it up to the leaker.
Parlaphone posted on it's website the vinyl single is part of RSD. Also the UK RSD site has it listed.
That's nice, but Parlophone and RSD UK are not in a position to speak for the Beastie Boys. I have an email in my inbox from Beastie Boys management and RSD.com saying the release is not confirmed. I don't know how many times I have to say that releases, concerts, and the like are unconfirmed until the band tells you they're happening.
All the bullshit and false info posted about Hot Sauce Committee 1 & 2 came from UK sites. Wankers.
Maybe it will only be available in the UK. Still, it's weird the Beasties haven't announced it.
