Hear rough version of new Beastie Boys song

🎵 "Pop Your Balloon"

Follow the link above to listen to the Beastie Boys' new song "Pop Your Balloon," which is featured on the NBA Live 10 video game.

This is only a rough version of the song ripped from the game and not the final version as it will appear on Hot Sauce Committee. According to Adam Yauch, the band changed the song after recording "Too Many Rappers."

LOL

THe song doesn't remind me of anything they've done in the past which is good.

I have listened to 4 of 17 songs from the new album and have not been blown away by any of them. I feel Adam Yauch's situation is coloring my view of the songs. It's hard to listen to the music and feel joyous when I'm aware of what he's going through. If I try to put emotions aside, I still think none of the songs reach Check It Out greatness - if we use the last lyrical album as a comparison point. I'm willing to believe I'm missing something by hearing the songs out of sequence. I'll wait until I hear the album and the final version of this song before I pass judgment.

To Danielle - I feel the same way as you! It makes me sad to listen to the Beastie Boys now because MCA is sick. But I do love this song and I hope it will make me stop being sad. MCA's email this week made me happy. I just want to know he's going to be ok. The new songs are not so important.

kinda strange to hear yauch say 'never sleep cus its the cousin of death' after 'never die cus death is the cousin of sleep'...

I don't know.....really not too sure about the sound of this album.....kinda sounds rushed to me...at least with the 4 tracks so far...I don't know about this new reverb effect that they have on their mics on this song and Too Many Rappers....sounds like a stock effect....makes the production sound cheap....I hate to be a pessimist....but thems the facts....oh and what's up with the crazy singing or whatever, like at 2:18 or that Larry, Gary, whatever bit on Bboys in the cut...sounds annoying....that's it....I'm out...Beastie Boys fuckin rock

I am going to wait until the final finished product before I evaluate. We all know how much the Beasties like to tweak, or even completely change things. I wonder how much time and effort they've been able to devote to music anyway with all that's been going on in Beastieland. I trust them to get it funky fresh before it's all said and done!

Can anyone confirm whether or not this linked version of it is from NBA '10?

Sounds interesting but a bit lackluster.

@Majkrazam: Yes, the youtube video contains the same rip of the song as the one posted here at Mic to Mic.

The song is kinda forgettable. Beasties can do better.
