An Adrock sighting was posted in today's Gawker Stalker:

You know that it's a genuine sighting because of the "hot" comment.

Adrock-produced track leaked

Spine Magazine is offering an mp3 download of Bashton's "Can I Eat?," a rap track produced by Adrock. The song appears on The Too Many Questions EP (Mischief Records), which will be released at the end of October.

When asked in a 2004 interview who the most underrated rapper is, Adrock replied, "My friend Bashton. He’s a smart kid. He’s definitely the strangest MC out there. He has a frantic style. Nuts. You’ve been warned."

  • Yauch attends Paris screening

Adam Yauch was in Paris on Wednesday (Sept. 13) for a screening of the Awesome; I Fuckin' Shot That! dvd at Cinéma le Rex. This little-publicized event was attended by only a small number of French fans and, apparently, no media, as there are no reports from the French media about it.

According to one fan in attendance, the screening was marred by the theater's poor sound system. Yauch spoke briefly after the film and visited with fans individually.

Hold up your finger. Mike D was spotted shopping in the organic food section at a supermarket in downtown Vancouver, Canada, yesterday (Sept. 10) by a Canadian fan who knows a Beastie Boy when he sees one. Probably not by coincidence, Mike's visit to Vancouver comes at the same time as the Dalai Lama's visit to the city.

    Another date in South America

According to Pollstar, the Beastie Boys will be performing at the Espacio Riesco in Santiago, Chile, on November 4.

Beastie Boys perform for the fluffy

The Beastie Boys will be performing at a benefit concert for the Animal Rescue and No-Kill City Shelters of New York on October 4 at the Hiro Ballroom at the Maritime Hotel in New York City. Also performing at the benefit are Marshall Crenshaw, Blue Oyster Cult, Nellie McKay, The Choke, The Star Spangles, and Sic Fucks, among others. General admission tickets cost $50 and can be ordered online at

    Money Mark adds performance dates

Money Mark has snagged the supporting artist slot at several upcoming Gnarls Barkley shows in the United States. According to Mark's page, he will be opening for Gnarls Barkley on the following dates:

September 11, Riveria Theater, Chicago, Illinois
September 19, Viejas Casino, Alpine, California
September 21, Red Rock Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada

VH1 invites fans to attend Hip Hop Honors screening and party

As a fundraiser for its Save the Music Foundation, VH1 is selling tickets to a screening and official after-party for the Hip Hop Honors on October 7. Guests will watch the show as it is being taped live at the Hammerstein Ballroom from the after-party location at Providence (311 West 57th Street, NYC). It won't be as nice as being inside the Hammerstein Ballroom where the action is going on, but it will be better than being on the sidewalk outside the venue or sitting at home like a schmuck.

The after-party offers an open bar, food, and -- this is where it gets interesting -- music by Mix Master Mike. A warning: Fans shouldn't be disillusioned by the "official" status of the party. Celebrities do not normally attend events that fans can purchase entrance into. It is, however, for charity, so it's anyone's guess if someone interesting will attend the after-party. In any case, the Save the Music Foundation is a great organization that will benefit from fans attending this event.

Tickets to the screening and after-party are $150, or $100 for only the after-party. To purchase tickets, fill out the order form [pdf] and email (put "Hip Hop Honors" in the subject line).

Beastie Boys donate action figures to charity auction

You too could play with some Beastie Boys figures and help a worthy organization. (Pose by me, action figures courtesy of Pooty)

The Beastie Boys have donated a sealed set of the rare Nigo-designed Beastie Boys action figures to the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California for a charity auction on eBay. The ACLU is an organization that fights to preserve the rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.

Also available in the ACLU of Southern California eBay auction is a pair of tickets to the VH1 Hip Hop Honors, at which the Beastie Boys will be honored for their contributions to hip-hop music, on October 7 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

Bidding on the Beastie Boys figures begins at US$1,000, and the Hip Hop Honors tickets at US$300. Both auctions end on September 12.
