Beastie Boys considering Coachella performance

Movieline.com has published an interview with Adam Yauch [DEAD LINK] that centers on Oscilloscope's new DVD club but slightly touches on the Beastie Boys's future plans. Asked about the new album and tour dates, Yauch responds that the band are "in the process of figuring that out now." Yauch admits that the band have been discussing performing at the Coachella Music Festival in 2010.

I thought they hated playing Coachella, no? It's good to hear they're making plans.

I don't recall them ever saying they hated Coachella, but they did have some bad weather when they played Coachella in 2003.

Plans are good. I want to be a part of the plans.

Movieline shouldn't have asked MCA about touring. Beastie Boys fans aren't even asking the question yet out of respect. I don't expect the Beastie Boys to tour in 2010. Nobody should be making MCA feel like he should be making tour plans.

No pressure MCA! Take all the time you need.

Beastie Boys at Coachella would be great, but I doubt it will happen. I heard Muse would be headlining Coachella.

I'm glad MCA is feeling good enough to talk about tour plans. I really want to attend the 1st show after MCA's recovery. I hope Coachella isn't it. Most Beastie fans including me can't afford Coachella tickets. $300!! I hope the 1st show is a regular show, not a festival.

mca should take more time off...it hasn't been 6 months..he's a good guy thinking about fans but he should put himself first.

@James You can get single day tickets for Coachella -- although they can be hard to come by sometimes. Coachella is a great music festival, but it's not for the faint of heart. It takes a lot of endurance to stand all day in the beating desert sun to watch bands perform.

The Beastie Boys will headline Coachella. They owe Goldenvoice because they backed out of All Points West.

I hope Coachella isn't their first show in 2010 too but it mostly likely will be. If the album is released in the first 3 months of 2010 like Capitol says, it makes sense for the Beastie Boys to promote it with a major headlining show at Coachella in APril.
