Sad news. Rolling Stone reports that John Berry, one of the founding members of Beastie Boys, has passed away. He was only 52 years old.
Berry was the guitarist in the first iteration of the band with Adam Yauch, Mike Diamond, and Kate Schellenbach. Berry played guitar on Polly Wog Stew (1982) and is credited for coming up with the band's name.
